Can You Tell the Difference Between Cairn Terrier & Norwich Terrier?
Both are intelligent and will not be content with sitting around the house much. They can also be destructive if they are not mentally stimulated. They'll need plenty of exercise and lots of toys. So, if you keep them entertained, both of these little clowns will make amazing pets.
Cairn Terrier
Originally from Scotland, and recognized as one of Scotland's earliest working dogs. The breed was given the name Cairn, because the breed's function was to hunt and chase quarry between the cairns in the Scottish highlands. Presented for the first time in Scotland in 1909, the Cairn Terrier breed was officially recognized by the AKC in 1913 and became quite popular from the 1930s.Small dog, his head is wide enough, his eyes are hazel colored. His ears are straight, small and pointed. Its coat can be gray, brindle or almost black, sandy, red, or wheaten. Its tail is short with a dense coat.
Norwich Terrier
The Norwich Terrier is a breed native of Norfolk (England), although it is called Norwich Terrier. This cute little dog was first recorded at the British Kennel Club in the 1930s.There are two similar breeds, one with drooping ears, and the other with pointy ears. In 1964, the British Kennel Club separated the two breeds. Today, we know the Norwich Terrier (pointy ears) and the Norfolk Terrier (drooping ears).
It shares the same race characteristics as the Norfolk Terrier. Courageous, very sociable and very active, lively and intelligent, the Norwich is an ideal companion, cheerful and intrepid, affectionate for both adults and children.
The Norwich Terrier is a small dog with a robust and compact body, is one of the smallest breeds in its class. The eyes are small, dark, with prick ears and a double coat, which come in red, tan, wheaten, black and tan, and grizzle.
