Disney share first images from Tim Burton's Dumbo
An elephant, it flies a lot! In 2015, the announcement of a version of the Dumbo Disney by none other than Tim Burton was able to titillate the canvas. Some were excited about the project ahead of time, while others expressed fears about the filmmaker, who many consider breathless since his 2003 Big Fish, which opened the door to a much less consensual film series than more early in the career of a man who had previously won general support.Unveiled in July 2017, the first design of Dumbo was far from convincing everyone, considered much too disturbing by a fringe of fans disturbed by his eyes, they considered too far from the cute original version of Disney.
Expected for a release in theaters on March 29, 2019, 78 years after the original film, this new version is not, contrary to what has been reported everywhere, a remake strictly speaking Dumbo, but rather a reinterpretation of the work in live action, with an elephant in computer graphics, a brilliant Danny Elfman, always a friend of the director behind the soundtrack, and big names such as Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito, Michael Keaton, or again the sublime Eva Green to complete the cast of characters.
Apart from Colin Farrell, Burton will collaborate with regulars in his cinema, which we hope to live up to the legend of Dumbo, and much deeper than his Alice In Wonderland halftone.
One thing is certain: we will be in the dark next year to see if Tim Burton has found his magic, and especially if he was able to insufflation properly to this Dumbo.
