This Artist Recreates Kenyan Wildlife Scenes On Wooden Bowls

Born in beautiful Kenya and now based in picturesque New Zealand, as a young boy, artist Gordon Pembridge was lucky enough to have a lifelong relationship with nature and to spend the first ten years of his life experiencing the wildlife of Africa.

Gordon started woodturning in 2004 at the South Auckland Woodturners Guild. He works as a full-time artist in woodturning and painting, in addition, Pembridge also dabbles in a myriad of other forms of art, including graphic design, 3D design, fine art, illustration and photography.

Each vessel is meticulously hand-carved, featuring elegant fern-like patterns, which he then paints and decorates with foliage, wild animals, and various natural motifs inspired by his two homes: Kenya and New Zealand.

You’ll surely be amazed after looking at his wonderful selection of nature-inspired woodwork.
